Throughout the Christian year, we celebrate the life of Christ. At Easter, we celebrate his resurrection. Yet, in between, lies the incredible, sacrificial gift that saves us all and gives us everlasting life. We invite you to come and experience one of the most meaningful worship services of the year: Tenebrae.

Tenebrae is a Latin word meaning "shadows" or "darkness." The Tenebrae service has been celebrated by the Christian church for many hundreds of years and consists of readings, congregational responses to readings and sung responses - all of them centering on the events of Good Friday. As the service progresses, lit candles will be extinguished one at a time until eventually the church is dark.

It is the Passion told in a beautiful, uniquely personal way that every Christian should experience at least once in their lives. We hope you will join us on Friday, March 23th at First Presbyterian.
