Good Friday Tenebrae Service

"Tenebrae" is the Latin word for "shadows" or "darkness."  The Tenebrae service has been celebrated by the Christian church for  hundreds of years.  The service consists of readings,       congregational responses and sung responses ~ all of them centering on the events of Good Friday.  As the service progresses, the lights are dimmed until finally we leave the sanctuary in darkness and silence.
