Celtic Vespers

(held every 3rd Thursday of the month)

The First Presbyterian Church of Westfield, New York, is pleased to announce a new worship ministry: Celtic Vespers.

Influenced by and based on ancient Celtic worship as well as its modern survivals in such worship communities as the famous Iona Community in Scotland, Celtic Vespers is a beautiful service of evening prayer. Featuring Responsorial Psalms, prayers from the Carmina Gadelica, a candlelight procession, music based on Celtic tunes, and even a recitation of The Lord's Prayer in Gaelic, Celtic Vespers will offer a truly unique spiritual service.

Celtic Vespers are held every third Thursday of each month at 7:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Westfield on Portage Street. Please join us - and bring your family and friends!

Additionally, if you would like to participate in the service as a reader, a choir member, an instrumentalist, a cantor, or an acolyte, please call the church office at 716-326-2643. See you there, and God Bless!

(All Homilies and Scripture readings open in a new tab, and are delivered by Elder John Daily unless otherwise noted. All music during the Moment for Silent Reflection is provided by Music Director David Waterland, unless otherwise noted.)
